The Institute of Financial Planning is a sitting member of the International Certified Financial Planning Council, part of the Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB). It has exclusive rights to their licensed certification marks in the UK.
Established in 2004, the International FPSB Council is a forum of twenty international organisations that seek to advance the profession of personal Financial Planning and work to promote the CFP certification mark as the globally recognised standard of excellence for Financial Planners. Depending on where you are moving, you may be able to transfer your UK CFP licence to that country. Each Council member has endorsed the Certified Financial Planner Certification process as the best means of testing for, and demonstrating, financial planner competency and ethical behaviour, although there will be bridging requirements to fulfil depending on the policies in place in the local countries.
